The teardown continues, steadily and methodically. Most of the interior is now out, including the seats, all carpet, upholstery, and the dashboard. I’m bagging and tagging everything, and also snapping pictures to record position and placement. Here’s my file of bits and pieces:
I was ambivalent about saving the windshield, because it had a large spider crack on the passenger side, and a smaller divot on the driver side. I guess I would have been more careful if the glass was in better condition. Now it’s toast. They crack so easily. I exercised more caution removing the rear window, which I will proudly reinstall after the car is painted.
One fun aspect of today’s work was recovering all of the booty under the seats.
1 flat head screwdriver, 3 ball point pens, 1 pencil, 1 chapstick, 1 very rusty nail clipper, 1 house key, 1 Lancome mascara, 1 Bonnie Hubbard razor blade scraper, 12 quarters, 8 dimes, 6 nickels, 16 pennies, and 1 button.
The $4.26 will be put toward my battery fund.
Here’s a parting shot of the shell before knocking off for the day to grill some salmon and enjoy the evening with my lovely wife.
