I drove out to Upland this morning to pick up the Porsche shell. The body has been sealed with a coat of black epoxy primer to insure that water never again touches the metal. Final bodywork can be performed right over the epoxy, and if metal needs to be exposed for welding, it’s just sealed up again afterward. A proper tow bracket was purchased from Rennen Metal, who specialize in towing and other racing accessories. You can see it correctly (and solidly) bolted onto the front torsion spring mounts in the pictures below. I then pulled the car literally just around the corner to Classic Touch, where Manny will do all the bodywork in preparation for painting. It’s getting closer. I’m taking suggestions for colors. If you have an opinion, leave me a comment.
